Nickel-cadmium Batteries

Nickel-cadmium batteries (NICAD /NICD )are a type of rechargeable batteries  that uses nickel (III) oxide and cadmium metal  as the electrode . This type of battery was invented by Swedish engineer Waldemar Jangnr for  the first time in 1899  .

features :
-    Long lifetime(more than 1,000 charging and discharging cycles)
-    Very high resistance against mechanical and electrical  destructive effects
-    A very low self discharge
-    The very low internal resistance

Application :
UPS systems, gas turbines, emergency light systems, railways,  television sites
